Aabid Surti Ji's Comeback With A Bang

Have a good news, hoping many already aware about it. 

Every Bhahadur (Indrajal), Parag, Dharmyug  reader know Aabid Surti ji - a living legend of comics Industy. Many are buying old out of prints comics, paying hundreds, some times thousands Rs. Here we have another chance to get rare strips. I'm going to buy all, may be you'll also like.

 

Alok who has made a documentary at Indian comics and going to release in near future after reshooting some episode - has informed many of us this good new.

 Hi,

Aabid Surti ji's famous comic strips Doctor Chinchoo Ke Chamatkar which used to get published in Paraag during 1963-65 is getting serialized by National Book Trust as Doctor Chinchoo Ke Kaarnamein. Printed on quality art paper with computerized color correction the book is available wherever NBT books are sold. A wonderful collection for all  comic book lovers.

Also, his famous strip Dabbu ji (one of the longest running comic strips in India) from Dharmyug is also published in a collectors edition album by NBT (I am yet to get my copy of this album) which has almost 100 of Dabbu ji's classic strips.

It will be really great if we can spread the good word around thru our Comic Blogs and Facebook pages about the availability of these unavailable rare strips at a very reasonable price (Books are priced Rs.30-35 each only).

#250. Two living legends: Govind Brahmania & Aabid Surbi

Today is the 63rd Independence Day of Hindustan (India) & 250th post of this blog.

Do you know what ‘Hindustan’ means?
No??? Ok. let me tell you.

Instead of comics, this time sharing some rare things with all.

Two living legends related with Indrajal Comics:

• Govind Brahmania: The man is who not only created logo of Indrajal, several Indrajal covers which are considered the best, but was the first illustrator of Bahadur. I never find his photo at net before, hoping many fans would be happier to see this legendary person.






• Aabid Surbi , the creator of Bahadur:

He is not only an national award winner painter, writer, but likes meditation & helping. Read this article. Heartily wish & support Aabid ji in his restarting planning of Bahadur. Hoping all hurdles he’ll come over and we’ll be able to get physical reprinted old Bahadur and new stories.

For photos and autograph, special thanks to Alok (in pictures he is with both legends) & his team who are making a documentary firm at Indian comics (expected time length 240 minutes). Alok has not only collected autograph of Aabid ji for me & Ramanan, but with happiness allowed to publish photos first time at net through this blog, has not posted at his own blog. So, especially added watermark to respect their hard work and friendly attitude.

#200. King of Pop 'Michael Jackson' has gone.

No comics posts in any of my 3 blogs today, my favorite pop singer has gone.

Michael Jackson, 50 years old, died yesterday (June 25, 2009) in Los Angeles. Michael Jackson “King of Pop” was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon. At 2:26 p.m. (Los Angeles local time) CNN reported they had confirmation that the Los Angeles Coroner had reported Michael Jackson’s dead.

One of the most talented superstars in the history of music who had shown top and bottom, several controversies; however fans never quit him. Talent is talent.

Martin Bandier, Chairman & CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, said: "Michael was the kind of amazing talent that comes along once in a lifetime. He was an incredible recording artist, an insightful businessman, an unmatched performer, and a true icon. To all of us at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, he was also a trusted and passionate partner, who was very proud of our accomplishments. He will be dearly missed. We wish his children and entire family our deepest condolences."
