Aabid Surti Ji's Comeback With A Bang

Hello friends,

Have a good news, hoping many already aware about it.

Every Bhahadur (Indrajal), Parag, Dharmyug  reader know Aabid Surti ji - a living legend of comics Industy. Many are buying old out of prints comics, paying hundreds, some times thousands Rs. Here we have another chance to get rare strips. I'm going to buy all, may be you'll also like.

Alok who has made a documentary at Indian comics and going to release in near future after reshooting some episode - has informed many of us this good new.

Why to rewrite if think same way, read this news in Alok's words:
***************************************
 Hi,

Aabid Surti ji's famous comic strips Doctor Chinchoo Ke Chamatkar which used to get published in Paraag during 1963-65 is getting serialized by National Book Trust as Doctor Chinchoo Ke Kaarnamein. Printed on quality art paper with computerized color correction the book is available wherever NBT books are sold. A wonderful collection for all  comic book lovers.

Also, his famous strip Dabbu ji (one of the longest running comic strips in India) from Dharmyug is also published in a collectors edition album by NBT (I am yet to get my copy of this album) which has almost 100 of Dabbu ji's classic strips.

It will be really great if we can spread the good word around thru our Comic Blogs and Facebook pages about the availability of these unavailable rare strips at a very reasonable price (Books are priced Rs.30-35 each only).

I am attaching some scans from Doctor Chinchoo for your consideration.

In case if you have missed my latest interview with him, where he speaks about his new books and reviving Bahadur, please check:

Frew 1538 - Secret Of The Cave Island

A woman can make happiness bloom all around them! Kudos to you, Happy 100th International Women's Day!

The first International Women’s Day occurred on March 19 in 1911. The inaugural event, which included rallies and organized meetings, was a big success in countries such as Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. The March 19 date was chosen because it commemorated the day that the Prussian king promised to introduce votes for women in 1848. The promise gave hope for equality but it was a promise that he failed to keep.  The International Women’s Day date was moved to March 8 in 1913.

The UN drew global attention to women's concerns in 1975 by calling for an International Women's Year. It also convened the first conference on women in Mexico City that year. The UN General Assembly then invited member states to proclaim March 8 as the UN Day for Women's Rights and International Peace in 1977. The day aimed to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. It also focused on helping women gain full and equal participation in global development.

Frew 1542 - The Trap (Alternative scans)

Hello friends,

Today sharing a comics, breaking my own imposed rule.

Until today,  I had never posted another  scans of the comics in very short period after web presentation which were  scanned by a person who posts independently, but  informed me (us) in advance. So, there was no question about a regular contributor or about a team member.

I really forget about 3 comics received in Nov 2009 (Frew #: 1047, 1538 &1542) for editing & posting from Delboj, so  didn't inform anyone. Ajay, who is not only a contributor, but a member of this blog,  also scanned and Parishi has posted some days ago.

Delboj was confident in my accuracy, never reminded again. Thanks buddy, I'll try my best to not repeat similar mistake with not only with you, but anyone. It was first time in almost 2 & half year my history.
It was my fault, apologized with both, as it could be created  a misunderstanding between both or all of us. Thankful to Ajay & Delboj, both understood from very first word.

And respecting OUR regular contributor's effort, today sharing #1542.
Happy with result after editing. Try!

Update 04 Aug 2010: These are scanned and first shared at net by  "Allen Lane" , Emile informed me today. Thanks Allen! I love this hero.
**************************************
I was able to collect only 2 strips (#1 & #137) in last 3 years. Thanks to Sumit Dutta who sent 8 strips, today sharing  10 Daily Strips by Dan Barry.

One can easily note the common features in all 10 strips, think these were shared by one person or one team. Sadly don't know much about the original contributor(s). But he(they) must know, I'm very thankful as I like Dan Barry's works.

If anyone can help with rest any or all Barry's daily strips. Not only I, but many visitors will be very thankful.
