#700 - Thank you to all friends

Two score and some months ago, when I stepped in to help run this blog, I never knew how long I would be doing this. Well this is the 700th post in this blog.

I present here the just concluded Tarzan strip is S205 The Gorilla Camp Raiders, which ran for 14 weeks between 1997-08-17 and 1997-11-16. The first panel looks like this:

While I have to thank all the visitors and readers, I would be remiss in my duty as a human being if I do not let out a shout for Emile A Schwarz. I have been honored to be his friend for so many years and also a member of some groups where Emile is a member. I have always been astonished at the amount of knowledge and dispensation of the same shown by him. He has some of the best databases of comics strips available anywhere on the net and the kind of details for the Indrajal Comics he used to share in Ajay's blog when Ajay used to post IJCs is just a small example of that.

Thank you Emile for your friendship and all the comics and strips that you have shared with me over these past years.

#695 - The latest Sunday Phantom strip

Here is the latest Sunday strip called The Iceman, that just concluded this Sunday. Emile, put together this one quite quickly, but I was a bit busy and was not able to post this one immediately.

Diana is missing from this story which is of a father spending quality time with his kids while solving a robbery that happened during the time of the 14th Phantom. The last panel in this story is also a commentary on this generation with older parents.

I am presenting here two Tarzan comic books from Kiran Publications (India). The first one is No 46. See cover below:

#691 - The Full run of the first Garth story

It is really a thrill when you hit upon the very first strip of any classic comic strip. I have had the good fortune of having the digital version of strips like Mandrake, Phantom, Rip Kirby and many others.

I am presenting here the full run of the first ever Garth story. I am sure Dr. Ramesh Bagwani will also be very happy. Like Ajay is synonymous with Frew Comics on the Net, Dr.Bagwani is the name that comes foremost with the sharing of Garth comics.

These were taken from PDF versions of the old pages of the original newspaper in which they appear. Don Freeman, Steve Dowling and John Allard collaborated in this story.

For those among us who know only Dhoni and gang and probably heard of Tendulkar (god of cricket), there was a cricketer, who reigned the World of Test Cricket from the early seventies to the early eighties. He came to the cricket scene with a bang in 1971, scoring 774 runs in 5 Tests (didn't bat in one innings to add to the greatness) against the mighty West Indies, which included 2 double centuries against the likes of Wesley Hall, Charles Griffith, Gary Sobers et al.
