Summary: Finally getting a chance to leave Mongo as the planet’s orbit takes it near Earth (see D2028 The Time Pendulum), Flash, Zarkov and Dale accept an invitation to take part in an Earth expedition to explore the hidden side of the moon.
Wasting no time in joining the expedition, the trio soon touch down on the lunar surface, but shortly thereafter Dale sees something moving in the darkness and decides to follow a trail that ends in an improbable lunar lake...

Summary: Finishing his report about the moon entity (see D2029 The Far Side of the Moon), Flash is transferred to the giant ‘Project SS’, a science satellite orbiting Earth where all nations’ data about flying saucers are being pooled and fed to a giant electronic brain in an effort to determine their origin.
As dignitaries from all countries assemble for the grand ceremony marking the disclosure of the data, a cloaked space vessel in the vicinity sends out a saboteur to infiltrate the gathering and blow the station to pieces before the truth is revealed...

ReplyDeleteHappy independance day and thank you very much. I love Dan Barry, he's a great artist. When I was a child I read "Guy L'éclair" in "Le journal de Mickey". Tympani, space circus, Kag the conqueror, Rob and Bey's wonders of Mongo, Mezmo.. are for ever, deep in my mind like a talisman..
"D2-029 The Far Side of the Moon" is not complete. 16 strips are missing I think.

ReplyDeleteBy mistake I deleted all data from external disk along with Flash Gordon strips last week. (:
Soon I'll recover and check. Thanks to Emile we are getting these. It's possible there were some strips missing. If not I'll replace and give info in current dated post.
In childhood Dan's Flash Gordon (Indrajal Comics) attracted me towards this hero. Hoping some day could find Sunday strips also.

Would you, by any chance, have the Flash Gordon comic strip, S100 - "The Greatest Art Theft" (6/20/65 to 10/10/65)? I have been searching for this particular strip since a long, long time.
I had read a few panels of this in my childhood (I believe it was serialized in some magazine, perhaps the Illustrated Weekly) and have been intrigued to read the rest of it, ever since.

Please have a look to the Flash story D 029----it has "header broken" problem and panel no. 14 is unable to get loaded.
BTW Flash D 016 (posted earlier)---panel no. 9 etc. also has the same problem.
Please keep on posting Flash. It will be great if you could post Sundays as well.

hey... you guys have known about this problem for a while, i see...
ReplyDeletei've been coming back to see if it wasn't a question of connectivity/corruption in transit... a couple of my problems actually were. but so far: "Flash_Gordon_D2-029-13" and "Flash_Gordon_D2-037-13"
are the only files i cannot get to extract cleanly. unlucky 13 for Flash, huh? ;)
i'm on a mac... if that makes any difference to y'all (and with .rar, you should know that it does) well, when:
1. using stuffit deluxe, it'll decompress 00-12 and then quit. with
2. "unrarX v2.2" it expands everything but page 13. then with
3. stuffit archive manager, i'd expand just #13 into its own folder...
that would give me 1/2 images.
if someone can find those two pages and rescan... or maybe a win expander that loves .rar... we can get'em fixed.
otherwise, i just read them like cliff-hangers or bad jump-cuts, for which this era of filmmaking is infamous.

Keep visiting. Not only D2-113 to 152 are coming, 4 missing strips (D2 - 68, 69,71,73) will be posted. A collector has provided new scans. There are few panels missing. But we have Spanish strips. Those will be posted after translation with help of some more HARDCORE fans.
