Adventures of Detective Moochhwala

Happy Republic Day To You all !!!

!!! It's party time !!!
Today Books and Comics crossed the 150,000 visitors mark.
Thanks to all of you for your support.

This is my first post and I would like to thank Prabhat for giving me this opportunity.

I bought my first comic in 1981, which was IJC 383. Since then I have bought every comics I could lay my hands on. I lost many comics during this period but still have a huge collection of both physical as well as soft copies, which I would like to share with you.

As my first post I am posting Adventures of Detective Moochhwala. Moochhwala was a comic strip which was created by famous political cartoonist Ajit Ninan. It was published in Target magazine in 80s and 90s. Each magazine had a single story of two pages.

More details about Detective Moochhwala are on Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detective_Moochwala
This is a special issue which contains all the published strips to that date. I hope you enjoy it.

  11. Thanks..Great to read Mooch's exploits. FYI, one of my most prized possessions is the first volume of Target from 1979-1980. I have had it bound and read whenever possible to relive the childhood days :)

  13. Welcome to B&C, IUnknown. Good to see you joining in the contributors list, and what better way to start the show with a desi treasure. I remember this Moochwala storyline created by the talented Ajit Ninan. It was so famous in Target magazines, that Tinkle Editorial team acknowledges that there famous Shikari Shambu character was an offshoot from that concept.

Now, I am going to enjoy all of them in this rare collector special.

Happy Republic Day wishes to all the Indians, scattered across the world.

  15. Thanks for the lovely upload.Having enjoyed so many IJCs,ACKs,and other comics from this dedicated group of scanners,I thought that i should also contribute something.I've no knowledge of blogs, so I've simply uploaded my file to mediafire, and here's the link ~~ http://www.mediafire.com/?mmzxzmehcmk ~~
This is of a copy of Target annual 1988 i had managed to retain.I've no scanner, so I used a camera.Hope the images are OK.I would love to get some Target scans, since i've the deepest regrets yet now,of my Target collection being disposed off by my parents, all in their eternal quest for academic excellence on my part.I'll never forgive them !
    Enjoy !

  19. Seeing that others also liked the Target annual,I've uploaded another special item to mediafire, the link is ~~ http://www.mediafire.com/?gkzmzdznzvy ~~.
This is a collection of Ajit Ninan's Funny World strips, and if i recollect correctly, it had come out along with the "Moochwala" digest shared here by iUnknown.I dont have a proper camera(or scanner!) right now,so I used my cellphone to snap the pics.Since it's a landscape format digest,i've made a pdf (instead of cbr)- it'll be easier to read.I'll also request this blog's creator (?PBC)to put up these items as a seperate post, so others can easily access it.You can re-upload it wherever you want.Enjoy !
