  3. "Apornas son" is Swedish and means "Son of the Apes". The cover logo (and most likely cover artwork and contents) are taken from a Swedish Tarzan comic book that was published around the same time.

But as for WHY the used a Swedish title... I am just as curious as the rest of you.

  4. @Andreas: Thanks! Thanks a lot, we were searching meaning!

It's my opinion regarding title: as comics culture came late in India than USA & European countries, the publishers generally didn't put credits & date of release as Dell etc. They amused that readers could guess/know from where it came or at least differentiate from USA printed versions. Sadly, in that period, the net was not available; the publisher is not printing any more; and we, fans, are trying to collect (guess) information. Some friends from south India, the region where this series was printed, are trying to collect information. They or I'll share if get any information.

  5. Thanks Andreas. I should have guessed that it should have been a Swedish origin, as almost all my google searches for finding the origins of Äpornas Son, brought out only the Swedish Tarzan titles. Now you have explained the same.

I guess as Prabhat too pointed out, the Indian publishers would have wanted to keep the name to attract a unique way in printing the Tarzan stories, which otherwise was printed by a couple of other publishers. I only wonder did they even know the meaning of the title, or they simply used it out of their ignorance :)

Only time will tell, as we dig in more on the publisher :)
